Why Pineapples?

My logo is also a symbol of my life, as a merchant mariner wife. There is a legend that when sea captains of New England returned from trading among the Caribbean Islands and took care of the crew and cargoes of spices, rum and fruit, they would head home and spear a pineapple on a fence post to let their friends and neighbors know they returned safely from the sea. It was also an invitation for them to visit and listen to stories of the voyage. My husband currently works on a ship with routes off the West Coast for several months at a time, so being able to display our pineapple is always special.
